The Machining Process Engineer is specifically focused on the machining processes including Turning, Milling, and Grinding, both Manual and CNC. Leads continuous improvement projects to reduce rework, improve efficiency and increase throughput in the departments. Creates standard operating procedures for production to operate the processes effectively.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Through our extensive in-house training program, the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills of the position.
1. Evaluate issues with repair processes, engine components, and approved technical data. Resolve process problems to improve processes economically while still maintaining quality.
2. Work with Production Department Managers to establish and execute plans to reduce rework and improve the quality rating of CRT’s repair processes. Review processes and repairs to improve efficiency and turn time of components.
3. Develop and/or revise work instructions to facilitate production. Develop and/or revise tooling and fixturing to facilitate production. Assist with specification and implementation of new materials, processes, or technologies.
4. Ensure process quality and testing requirements are being met using FAA approved technical data and/or industry standards.
5. Communicate at a high-level regarding repair processes, problem solving, quality improvement, and process development. Assist in training of other employees per company or industry standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. 4-year (bachelor’s) degree in an engineering or technical field (B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, etc.) from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience).
2. Ability to understand and interpret complex technical documentation including OEM repair manuals, FAA regulations, and blueprints.
