Job Description
Position Summary: The Assistant Controller will support the financial leadership team in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and assisting with compliance and audit functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
  • Analyze financial data for trends, discrepancies, and performance metrics.
Month-End Close:
  • Oversee the month-end close process, including reconciliations of accounts, journal entries, and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely financial close and reporting.
Compliance and Auditing:
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, gathering data, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, providing insights to management.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
  • Automate financial workflows and reporting tools where feasible
Team Supervision:
  • Provide guidance to accounting staff and ensure their development and productivity.
  • Ensure proper delegation of tasks and accountability within the finance department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit procedures.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within a finance department.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance, treasury functions, and cash management.
 
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
